I was born in Glasgow in 1937, educated at Glasgow Academy and the Royal High School in Edinburgh. I then spent five very enjoyable years at Edinburgh College of Art graduating in drawing and painting in 1961. Moving from Edinburgh to Fife I started teaching art and design at Auchmuty School in Glenrothes and stayed there until 1993. I then spent a few years teaching painting and art and design historical studies part time at Glenrothes College until finally retiring in April 2001.

For many years I lectured and demonstrated to art societies throughout Scotland and am a regular contributor to 'The Artist' magazine. I am a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours, a professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists, and a life member of the Largo Bay Art Society which I helped set up in 1993.
My paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, the Society of Scottish Artists and the Society of Wildlife Artists.

I am a member of the Scottish Mountaineering Club, the Braes of Fife Mountaineering Club and Lundin Golf Club.
I live in Lower Largo in Fife, Ihave one daughter, two sons and three granddaughters.
